The foam is a rough representation of the curve of my camera path, with the town scene and other perspectives as the planar element of the paper, folded up and curving around the camera path: intersecting and effecting the visual representation of traveling along the camera path.
It is interesting that from these images two sides of the story are revelaed, the subjective (personal) or objective (town)
ReplyDeleteBased on your description of the interaction between the town and camera angle, it sounds like you are approaching the sequence as if the scene is moving around a static camera path, instead of the opposite. Is this the intention?
ReplyDeleteI wanted to use the physical model to test a direct interplay between the town and the camera path. But it does detract from the primary intent of traveling along the camera path, by providing an alternative path to travel along. You are correct, it goes against my intention, but only because I didn't see that in the scene before. If I can't relate it directly to the motion of my camera path, or distinguish the primary path from the translation of the plan, then I'll probably back track away from this move.
